Handmade Heritage

This traditional chestnut long walking staff is not just made, it is grown! The ancient technique of coppicing involves cutting back the source trees about a metre back from the ground, stimulating the growth of new shoots that grow to an appropriate diameter for a walking stick.

Alpine Ferrule

The Chestnut Hiking Stave with Bark is supplied with an alpine ferrule as standard. Specially developed for icy surfaces, its sharp spike provides fantastic grip on nearly all types of outdoor terrain. This makes it the perfect hiking or rambling stick from its handle to its tip!

Can I Replace the Ferrule?

Yes, if your rubber ferrule becomes worn, you can remove the fitted ferrule and replace it with a new one. As this is a natural product, we recommend measuring the end of your stick to determine which size is right for your stick. For information on how to measure your stick, we recommend reading our article on How to Measure Your Walking Stick for a Ferrule.
