  • Mastering a controlled, effortless cast determines your success in fly fishing. The time-tested formulation of the 444 Classic Fly Line series offers today’ s fly fishers the same supple, glass smooth finish that made this line, the “Fly Line of the Millenium”. The suppleness of the 444 Classic combined with special tapers allow you to keep tight loops and pinpoint casting accuracy.
  • With most species taking far more of their natural food below the surface than on the top, sinking lines get the fly down to the deeper feeding locations. Because feeding patterns, water depth and current vary, Cortland manufactures a wide range of sinking lines.
  • Type 3 Fly line will get your fly down to these deeper feeding areas consistently and efficiently in stillwaters and faster rivers.  A slow retrieve is ideal for deeper presentations, while weightless fly patterns can be used with fast retrieves in the upper water column. The most versatile sink rate for stillwater and river applications.
  • Type 6 Fly line will take lures and wet flies down very rapidly enabling deep lying fish to be targetted effectively. An ideal line for deep stillwater tactics or heavy, deep-water river applications. A short taper design loads quick and makes casting streamers of all sizes seem effortless.
  • A front welded loop makes rigging, fast, easy, and reliable. Cortland loops are strong, secure, and durable.
  • Cold Temperature – Ideal use in 30-50 degree (F) temperatures.
  • Warm Temperature – Ideal use in 50 – 70 degree (F) temperatures.
