The 5 1/2 is a mighty jack plane at 3.1kg and is the largest of the jack planes from Clifton.
The 5 1/2 is regularly considered the “go to” plane for people starting out as it really is a versatile beastie.. The name ”jack plane” comes from ”jack of all trades”.
